WordPress 2.9: a lead to manage thumbnails for old posts

Before version 2.9, the bigger majority of us using custom fields to manage the thumbnails associated with posts. Based on a plugin, or a small development, this management was relatively simple. With version 2.9, WordPress can now attach a thumbnail to each post or page. So, users will have a choice: adopt the new management, or keep the current one. Both cases will be difficult to manage in the future. But is it possible to convert old posts and thumbnails to the new system?

WordPress MU: Présentation générale

En juin dernier, les créateurs de WordPress annonçaient une « fusion » de WordPress et de WordPress MU. Nous n’avons pas encore de date, mais depuis la version 2.7, les évolutions de ces deux plateformes sont déjà synchronisées.
Pour anticiper un peu cette fusion, je me suis intéressé à cette variante MU en essayant de voir si elle pouvait nous ouvrir de nouvelles possibilités en terme d’application, de plugins, …

WordPress MU: Overview

During last june, WordPress’ creators announced the « merge » of WordPress and WordPress MU. We have still no date, but since the version 2.7, evolutions of these two platforms are synchronized.
To anticipate this merge, I am interested in this MU branch, trying to see if it could open up new possibilities in terms of application, plugins, …

WordPress 2.9 and EG plugins

The Beta 2 of WordPress 2.9 is available since last week. The release of the official version is very soon. So, it’s time for me checking the compatibility of my plugins with this new version of this blog engine. I give you also some information about what is planned for the next weeks.
